The barn at Heron Corn Mill has been re-developed into an arts, education and community facility, offering an ongoing programme of workshops, activities and events organised by Heron Corn Mill staff. Please check the events page for more details. The space is also be available for community led activities and events and can be hired as a facility for all kinds of uses such as talks, meetings, parties or rehearsal space with a range of relevant equipment. A hire rate card detailing the costs for various uses and equipment can be obtained by contacting the office.

The barn has recently been fitted with a new projection screen to compliment the extensive range of equipment, including a 2kW PA system, 24 channel mixing desk, DMX lighting rig, staging, large format projector and screen, lectern, comfy padded seating along with an underfloor bio-mass heating system. The barn is fully licensed for all forms of entertainment and alcohol sales seven days a week.

Architectural design for the barn was undertaken by Simpson & Brown Architects with building works carried out by Duckett Building Services and CDM by Communication Point Ltd. Re-development of the barn has been funded by a major grant from The Northern Rock Foundation and the Cumbria Rural Enterprise Agency. We are extremely grateful to Northern Rock Foundation for their continued support of the work at Heron Corn Mill site.

HERON CORN MILL (BEETHAM) LTD WINS HERITAGE LOTTERY FUND SUPPORT
Heron Corn Mill in Beetham, near Milnthorpe, Cumbria has received initial support from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for the Waterpower Connection Point project, it was announced today.

Mill now open for 2012
The heron corn mill has re-opened for 2012 wednesdays to fridays 11am till 4pm. And most weekends for self guided tours. Please call if you would like to arrange a guided tour of the mill.

A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT ...

'a river runs through it' is a 12 month arts project based at Heron Corn Mill.

 

EDUCATION PACK AVAILABLE

Heron Corn Mill now has a new teachers resource pack. Suitable for Key Stage 1-2 it contains three new exciting modules for schools and groups. Just £ 3.00 including P&P.
