A River Runs Through It (Legacy)
In 2012 this project enabled the visiting public to get a much greater understanding of the social, economic, industrial and agricultural background of Heron Corn Mill, and its place in the rural setting of South Cumbria.
We celebrated the lives of ordinary people who farmed, milled and made their living here. Now we have made new friends and have continued the legacy through organised visits to hidden mills and collections unseen. Through walks into the past, and discussions long into the afternoon, with our ‘time-share’ ploughman’s lunches.
The learning continues, with artist Nell Dale, and our farming communities.
