
Bring the kids to Heron Corn Mill for an enjoyable Easter Egg Hunt with some sweet rewards! Along with other food and craft stalls in the barn, we will also be selling freshly baked hot cross buns. Tours of the mill begin at 11am. Admission and tours are FREE.

National Mills Weekend is a vibrant event in the UK, where hundreds of windmills and waternills open their doors to the public. For 2026, the theme is 'Mills in Time'. There's something for everyone with rural crafts and demonstrations on display, Iron Shepherds Living History Group, woodcraft demonstrations, basket and carving tuition and much more. Guided tours of the mill are on offer and wonderful fresh bread from the hut! Refreshments available for purchase.

Our wonderful bakers from Bread of Heron are throwing a beautiful Autumn Lunch in the barn. Bookings are necessary. Arrive between 12pm and 2pm for a hearty feast of seasonal soup, freshly baked bread, followed by a lovely bowl of fruit crumble with cream. Join Stuart the miller, Iain the mill guide, and our volunteers for a fascinating demonstration and tour, learning all about this historic water mill and how the stoneground wholemeal flour is produced. First Friday of each month!
First Friday of each month after the Milling Demonstrations and Tours, we will be holding the popular Foodie Friday, a mini-market with a range of freshly-milled flours and oats, freshly-baked breads, stalls selling savories, cakes, and quiches.

Whilst urgent repairs to the mill launder take place, you are invited to join Iain on these fascinating walks through the local landscapes, listen to stories filled with knowledge, folklore and myth! Medium terrain, good footwear a must. You will arrive back at the barn for Foodie Friday, in time to buy fresh bread, cakes and other goodies! £4.50 for adults, children are free!

Food for Thought is aimed at teenagers (13-17 years) who may have limited access to social activities or have difficulties at school or making friends. This is a super little group who bake and cook together under the supervision of our lovely Bread of Heron bakers.
